Friday premiere was a full success

For the first time the two Grand Slam competitions in Standard and Latin were changed. Now Standard was taking place on Friday and this premiere was a real success. The audience enthusiastically cheered on the couples, who burned down a dancing firework in the final. Thankfully, on Friday summer wasn't quite as hot in Stuttgart anymore. Last year's winner Dmitry Zharkov/Olga Kulikova defended their gold medal with technically perfect and dynamic dancing. Lithuanians Evaldas Sodeika/Ieva Zukauskaite were one place better than last year. Bronze went to Russia's Alexey Glukhov/Anastasia Glazunova, who were also one place better than last year.

Germany was represented by one couple in the final. German champions Anton Skuratov/Alena Uehlin could tie up to last year's success and landed on sixth place again as in 2017.
