Gold of the GOC Rising Stars Seniors IV Standard goes to Portugal

The first day of the GOC in the Alte Reithalle ended with the final of the Seniors IV Standard Rising Stars. 61 couples from 13 nations competed. Gold went to Joao and Manuela Lopes dos Santos from Portugal, who won all five dances. Second place went to Lutz and Berit Fröhlich from Berlin. Michael Saumweber/Sabine Schaffert secured third place with a one-point lead over Thomas and Annette Kreuels, who finished fourth with a score of 19. William Lee/Finona Tam from Canada finished fifth ahead of Paola Bellgui/Liana Matteini from Italy. (Sabine Hey)
